The National Committee for October 17 in Ireland is proud to present a beautiful photographic gallery featuring a series of events from the National Program for the World Day for Overcoming Extreme Poverty, which you can view here.

The images are from the following events:

- 40 Make Poverty History quotes on the Customs House Quay, Dublin, October 5 - 19.

- Opening of the “Your Rights Are Written in Stone” Exhibition in the EPIC-CHQ Building on Custom House Quay and presentation of the 2018 End Poverty Day T-Shirt, October 9. The Exhibition was launched by David Donoghue, former Irish Ambassador to the United Nations in New York and Seanie Lambe, Chair of the Inner City Organisations Netowrk (ICON).

- Message for the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty from the President of Ireland, Micheal D. Higgins, October 16.

- Lus Na Greine Family Resource Centre in Granard, County Longford, celebrating October 17.

- The SAOL Project from inner city Dublin marking the World Day with a series of Poverty Post Cards.

- The Leave No One Behind Summit marking the World Day and Zero Hunger Day, Dublin, October 16 (including video message).

- Global Action Plan, Ballymun, Dublin, marking October 17.

- Arden View Family Resource Centre, Tullamore, County Offaly, celebrating October 17.

- The Cork Life Centre, Cork City marking the World Day.

- National Gathering at the Human Rights and Poverty Stone celebrating 10 years of the unviling of the Stone at the Customs House Quay, Dublin, on October 17 (including a short video).

- The Participation and Practice of Rights (PPR) project honouring the UN Day in Belfast, Northern Ireland with a day of debates on the theme of “Conscious Cruelty: Social Security, the Economy and Human Rights” on October 17.

Launch of the memorial book, "Voices for Dignity", and an evening sing-along celebrating 10 years of the Human Rights and Poverty Stone, at the Mansion House, Dublin, with special guests: the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Emily Logan, Chief Commissioner of Human Rights and Equality, Bernadette Scheid, Deputy Ambassador of Belgium, and Camille O’Sullivan, October 17.

Development Perspectives organised their 2018 SDG Showcase event in Drogheda, County Louth, celebrating the actions of the 2018 year SDG Advocates from communities across Ireland, October 17.

- Opening of the concrete pathway in the "End Poverty Day Hope Orchard" in Carrick-On-Shannon, County Leitrim organised by the Breffni Family Resource Centre followng the "Bench" workshop, October 24.

- Misean Cara (Irish Faith-Based Missionary Movement) marking the International Day with a seminar on "Tackling Forced Displacement: People, poverty and rights", October 25.

- The Offaly Traveler Movement Youth Goup, Tullamore, County Offaly, marking the World Day with a fashion show, November 1.

- National #Wishing Stones Campaign in Primary Schools (including videos).
